Asian Hornet Sting Treatment
Localized Pain
If you experience localized pain from an Asian hornet sting, there are several steps you can take to alleviate discomfort:
- Apply ice to the sting site to reduce swelling and pain.
- Take an antihistamine to reduce itching and swelling.
- For pain relief, take aspirin or another over-the-counter pain reliever.
Severe or Anaphylactic Reaction
If you experience a severe or anaphylactic reaction to an Asian hornet sting, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of a severe or anaphylactic reaction include:
- Difficulty breathing
- Swelling of the face, throat, or tongue
- Hives
- Nausea and vomiting
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- Loss of consciousness
