England reach semi-finals after penalties win
England have reached the semi-finals of Euro 2024 after a 5-3 penalty shootout win over Switzerland.
The Three Lions had to come from behind to force the game to penalties after Switzerland took the lead early in the second half.
England started the game brightly and had the best of the chances in the first half, but they were unable to find the back of the net. Switzerland grew into the game and took the lead in the 55th minute through Xherdan Shaqiri. England fought back and got an equaliser in the 80th minute through a Harry Kane penalty.
The game went to penalties and England held their nerve to win 5-3. Jordan Pickford saved two penalties and Kane scored the winning spot-kick to send England through to the semi-finals.
England will now face Denmark in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
